The Maremma has an active mind of above average intelligence and without some form of training and activity will soon become bored. He will readily understand to sit, heel, down and stay, but you should not expect to receive from a Maremma the same blind obedience you might expect from a German shepherd or a Border collie, for subservience is not in his nature.

Obedience classes, especially when young, will be beneficial for both owner and dog and regular participation from 5 months to adulthood is strongly recommended. His independent nature causes him to consider all instruction before acting, so that his slow responses should be excused. This is however, no excuse for bad behavior which should be checked immediately by a firm ‘NO’ to a puppy first joining the household. Being a natural guard, the breed can bark more than most, and this too may need to be checked at an early age to prevent problems later.

Usual vaccinations against hardpad, distemper, leptospirosis, hepatitus and parvovirus are required to be given by your vet along with annual boosters. Worming of puppies should have been carried out at 3, 5 and 7 weeks of age by the breeder and should be repeated at 16 weeks and at 3 monthly intervals throughout the adult life. For a large breed, Maremmas are relatively long-lived, and it is not unusual to find them still enjoying life at 13, 14 or even 15 years old.

This weekend I was raised a question to which nobody has yet answered it. See if you can help me.

First, let us put you in situation: I was driving the car on a road of La Mancha, July, 17:00, 35 º C outside, no shade in sight. In the middle of nowhere, a flock of sheep. All of them, with his coat of wool. Very close together to each other.

I figured that, if instead of sheep have been people and I was among them (a large group of people with wool coat, all close together, the sun, 35 º C) would be sweating like a pig. And, indeed, the expression “sweating like a pig” is what made me ask the question nobody has answered it, yes, it is clear that pigs must sweat a lot, and then comes the expression. However, what about sheep?

There are two theories about the origin of the ancestors of the dog breeds Epagneul. The first holds that their ancestors are those dogs that Gaston Phoebus defined as “Spanish”, present in both areas north of the Pyrenees from the twelfth century, which spread throughout France and led to the Epagneuls.

Also, Antoine Fruitier in his “Dictionaries Universal” (1690) were identified as of Spanish origin, writing: “Epagneul or Espagnols are dogs that pull rabbits in the undergrowth ‘and Leon Bertrand in his book” La Chasse et les Chasseurs ” confirms this theory but adds that many breeds English, French and Italian “originated in Spain or at least have half Spanish blood” (De Benito, 1998). Arkwright (1902) noted that “long-haired dogs from Spain” and that “the spaniel came to England from France, where race was naturalized, but this came from Spain.”

The other theory suggests some cynologists is that their ancestors are animal’s native French origin, and its name comes from the derivation of the word “Spain” which means curl up, lie down or crouch and / or the old term “espaigneux” which means ” expects “, or action by the way this dog adopts typical when approaching prey.

The formation of this race took place in the nineteenth century, a time when many British hunted in the region of Montes d’Arree and the Black Mountains, arriving to breed dogs Setter, Pointer and Springer, but left in Britain in the time between hunting seasons. These were crossed with the region contributing Epagneuls white and orange, improving your hair, giving it more firmly in the sample and a more refined picture.

The creation of the race took place in the kennels Pontavice Viscount, a leading importer and breeder of English setter white and orange coat, which crossed a female mantle Setter lemon Epagneuls one of his gamekeepers, who had Luzlac Epagneuls white and brown. In this litter was born a female white and orange, which was the original breed Epagneul Breton, whose reputation soon transcended his home region of Fougères. In 1896, the Viscount Pontavice in category “Epagneuls different” presented him the first copy of this race in the Paris dog show. The interest in this race is accelerated with the entry of copy in the French Stud Book in 1891, but until 1900, there were several crosses English setter.

In 1904, the exemplary ‘Max Callac’ was crowned at the Paris Exposition and in 1907 was founded in Laudeac the “Club of Short-tailed Epagneul Breton,” headed by Viscount Pontavice, being recognized by the Society Central Canine. The first breed standard was made in 1908, but the final was drafted in 1938 by Ronan de Kermadec, which ceased to be an imperative, the presence of “natural short tail, characteristic considered as living proof of racial purity. The first coat colors supported were black, brown, white, and orange, being in 1956 when he accepted the black cloak.

Race Braco German or Deutsch Kurzhaar derived from animals bred Spanish Punta Old Dog, which were imported to Germany in 1467 and then reintroduced in the XVI – XVII by hunter’s flamingos, then were crossed with Bloodhounds Bloodhounds and German, giving raise the Old German Pointer.

After crossing the old German Pointer with Perdiguero de Burgos (which is recognized as a founding principal), Pointer English and local hounds, resulted in animals with a slimmer shape, useful for hunting and collecting trace and harder to hunting on land or in water. This type of dog began to be known since 1870 as a German Shorthaired Pointer or Kurzhaar Deutsch.

Prince Albrecht of Solms-Braunfels established criteria of race, the rules of the view of the morphology and the basic rules of evidence of work being captured in 1897 in the Book of the origins of Braco German shorthaired or Zuchtbuch Deutsch Kurzhaar. During the Spanish Civil War, numerous specimens of Perdiguero de Burgos were taken to Germany by soldiers of the Legion, transfer and continued for several years to Germany and Italy as a refreshment of blood to other races.

It is a breed originating in Germany, of medium size and short hair, which animals reach a size of 62 to 66 cm in height at the withers for males and 58 to 63 cm for females, with weights 30 to 35 and 26 to 30 Kg respectively.

Apart from silk, hair sheep are made of fibers of a protein characteristic of hair keratin, which has remarkable properties extensible, giving flexibility and elasticity to knit. The wool has a calorific importantly, it absorbs up to 30% of its weight in moisture without giving any impression of wetness: it is a fiber that breathes and is comfortable to wear even in summer.

Like any protein, keratin is denatured by heat once cooked, the egg white cannot return to its original state, and wool is the same! Cold water or a maximum of 30 ° can be washed safely. In addition, subject to a mechanical action in hot and wet (washing machine), the fibers can become entangled: the felting.

Wool sheepskin only has the right to that name, but by extension, “wool” refers also to other animal fibers, and wants to use it a synonym for “yarn”. According to the animal, race or location of the body where it is collected, the wool has different qualities in terms of finesse, suppleness and softness. After scouring and spinning before it parallelizes fiber carding (combing) gives a rather rustic wire as Shetland wool, but reiterated and supplemented by combing which removes short fibers, we get a much smoother yarn, wool tops, look more refined.

The lamb’s wool is first shearing wool from an animal less than a year. The sheep breed merino wool gives a very good quality, wavy, soft and elastic structures intended purposes. Shetland wool comes from sheep of the Shetland sheep fleece small soft and silky.

Owners of dogs know their canine growl, bark and howl at various occasions. However, mostly dogs growl when protecting their territory, defend their bones or play with their teacher or peers.

A study published in the journal Animal Behavior indicates that domestic dogs are growling and have multiple meanings very different from each other. A dog that barks or howls emits a signal to distant individuals, a dog that growls, however, warns a person nearby. However, these grunts have unsuspected nuances.

For humans, it is perhaps not obvious, but dogs are not mistaken. The team of scientists, for his experience, began by recording three different types of grunts, those issued during a game, those of a dog, threatened by an unknown individual, and finally those of a dog on the to attack.

41 pooches household were then placed in front of a bowl merely a juicy bone. When the dog approached the bone, a microphone hidden under a table in front of the bowl, emitted randomly one of three grunts.

Experience has shown that the first two grunts (play and sense of danger to a stranger) did not prevent dog’s guinea pigs to the bone. In contrast, those who heard the threatening growl retreated immediately without taking the bone.

The study tends to prove that dogs not only know the intentions of their peers through their facial expression but also through various grunts sound variations.

Virtual petsites are generally free to play and accessible to all who register. Can be accessed via web browser, and often include a virtual community, as in Neopia and Neopets Marapets in Marada. In these worlds, you can play to earn virtual money, which is usually spent on food and products for your pets.

Some sites adopt out pets to put on your webpage el ‘use of role-playing in chat. They often require the “adopted to have a page ready for their pets. Sometimes there is a setup for the “breeding a pet and then the” adoption outside.

Most sites use to search for users to receive points and objects. Some missions can give stat points for your pets when you are fighting for. Those sites that use a foundation for primary research on the Neopets site and MaraPets. These sites, and their clones have a single non-dynamic image for each animal and its various colors, leading to a lot of similarity in pets.

There are also sites of simulation, a kind of virtual pet-when the site tries to simulate a real-life discipline such as dressage horse or show dog breed. Often these sites will also have an aspect of reproduction, including genetics and marking. Other sites of simulated concentrated mainly in the marking. Some have done away with “something that shows a great imagination and created a web site or comic, a discipline-based or non-existent creature.

An example of this is woolly sinosheep.com, a simulation game where the player receives his very own knife grade, and continues to climb, explore and complete missions under a single goal in some places, but interesting in a strange world. Some websites with more than a similar genre include Mweor, Khimeros, Wajas, Tygras and many others.

Pension horses is, to make it right rider and horse …

About one million German regularly sit in the saddle – with growth expected. So the board horses increasingly becoming an alternative source of income for farmers. Many farms have stables, pastures, the connection to a network of riding trails and operating their own food to the ideal conditions.

The difference from other branches of production, however, the service character: Who holds board horses, must also take into account the needs of horse owners. For the owner is not only riding, but all the trappings of the stall to grooming with pleasure. Not for the manager, which disturbs the hustle and bustle in the yard. A comprehensive operational concept, which is supported by the whole family is therefore essential.

Recent survey by the German Equestrian Federation FN showed that athletes keep horses for the accommodation of the most important criterion of the equestrian center. As good accommodation subject to the Single box with paddock or groups in an open stable.

The good news is that horse lovers can also cost a little fun – an average of just under 240 € per month.
