Breeding for fighting against parasites in sheep
Internal parasites are a problem for all sheep farmers, but particularly for those who do organic farming. Adult sheep offer some resistance to pests and show few signs of parasitism when they are healthy, well fed and exposed to low or moderate levels of noise. The biggest problem occurs in lambs that have not yet developed resistance. Pest must be a multifaceted approach to reduce the number of parasites on pasture to reduce the risk to lambs.
