Granadino Poniente”, for five of the products it markets: artichokes, cauliflower, romaine lettuce, iceberg lettuce and tomato salad. With this distinctive Western Association honors the contribution of this business to the environment and quality in their production process.
A total of 25 companies in the West Granadino and more than 150 products from the tourism industry, oil, bread, pastry, asparagus, pickles, aquaculture, cheeses, hams and sausages, among others who have this label guarantees that the product has passed some strict quality control, traceability and authenticity.

Granadino Western is located in the westernmost province of Granada, and includes a total of 16 municipalities and 3 local government: Algarinejo, Alhama de Granada, Arenas del Rey, Cacín, Fornes, Huétor-Tájar, Jatar, Jayena , Illora, Loja, Moclín, Montefrío, Moraleda de Zafayona, Salt, Santa Cruz del Comercio, Sales Zafarraya, Villanueva Messiah and Zafarraya Zagra.
It has an area of 2044 km2 and population of approximately 80,000 inhabitants. Located in the heart of Andalusia, between Sierra Nevada and the city of Granada on one side and Malaga and the Costa del Sol from another, bordering the provinces north of Jaen, Cordoba and Malaga in the northwest to the south.
To access the territory there is a complete network of roads (A-92), railways and proximity to international airports of Malaga and Granada. Framed in a landscape of mountains, plains and countryside alongside a forest and scrub vegetation of Mediterranean houses the Natural Park of Sierras de Tejeda, Alhama and Almijara along with another in the declaration process.
Granadino The West has a diversified agriculture, and its emphasis on olive oil with appellation of origin of Granada Poniente, asparagus, green-purple Huétor Tájar (specific name), and alternative horticultural crops, cereals and legumes.
